Courtney Gengenbach of Eustis, Nebraska and Brant Arends of Elwood, Nebraska were united in marriage on September 28th, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis, Nebraska.
Parents of the couple are Brent and Kelly Gengenbach of Eustis and Ed and Deb Arends of Elwood. Grandparents of the bride are Marlene Hintz of Omaha, Nebraska, Don Chandler and Jane Grabenstein-Chandler of Lincoln, Nebraska and Doug Gengenbach of Eustis. Grandparents of the groom are Doug and Alice Phipps of Mullen, Nebraska.
Courtney was escorted down the aisle by her father Brent Gengenbach. Her dress was a strapless ivory A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. It had an overlay of lace with pearl beads, rhinestones and sequins. The waist was accented with an ivory ribbon with small flowers, rhinestones and pearls. The matron of honor was sister of the bride Lauren Anderson of Omaha. Bridesmaids were sister of the groom, Cori Schutz of Lincoln and friends of the bride: Brianne Keller of Lincoln, Lindsey Kugler of Eustis, Amanda Buehner of Lincoln and Arianna Peregrine of Spalding, Nebraska. They wore purple chiffon one strap knee length dresses. Flower girls were nieces of the groom, Berlyn and Celia Schutz of Lincoln.
The best man was a friend of the groom from Elkhorn, Nebraska; Willie Douglas. Groomsmen were: brother of the bride, Blake Gengenbach of Eustis and friends DJ O’Donnell of Sterling, Virginia, Judd Douglas of Glendale, Arizona, JB Kenning of Malmo, Nebraska and Joe Remmenga of Lincoln. Ushers were friends of the groom: Jake Hoffman of Clay Center, Nebraska and Matt McNulty of Omaha. The groom wore a black tuxedo with ivory tie and vest. The groomsmen and ushers wore matching black tuxedos with black vests. The groomsmen wore purple ties and the ushers wore black ties.
Candle lighters, program and bubble attendants were niece of the groom, Angelina Schutz of Lincoln and cousin of the bride Kylie Porter of Andover, Kansas. The scripture reader was cousin of the bride Rachelle Koch, of Omaha. Guest book attendant was cousin of the groom, Erin Sestak of Omaha. Greg and Renee Hueftle of Eustis were videographers. Brad Keller, Sherry Timm and Bruce Koch all of Eustis were vocalists/musicians.
A dinner reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Lexington Holiday Inn. Host couples were Scott and Janine Porter, uncle and aunt of the bride of Andover and Ken and Bev Sestak, uncle and aunt of the groom of Bridgeport, Nebraska.
The couple currently resides in rural Eustis. Courtney is the fifth grade teacher in Elwood and Brant is the assistant superintendent at Lakeside Country Club. They will be taking their honeymoon to Jamaica in May.
