Former Cozad Resident: Terry Fuqua (1957-2016)
Terry Lee Fuqua died August 24th, 2016 at the home of his father in Broken Bow, Nebraska, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 59.
Terry was born August 1st, 1957, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Eugene and Patricia (Price) Fuqua. He attended several schools through childhood, including Cozad High, and excelled in athletics. Terry was a standout punter for the Haymakers and a center fielder for Cozad’s American Legion baseball team in the mid-1970s.
Terry settled in San Diego, California, and lived there most of his life. He relocated back to Nebraska in 2012. A very talented artist, he loved sailing, fishing, Bears and Huskers football, and most of all, his family. He lived life on his own terms and had a high time doing it. Terry will be remembered for his unique sense of humor that brought laughter to friends and family.
Survivors include father and stepmother, Eugene and Georgia Fuqua of Broken Bow; mother, Patricia Nicholosi and family, of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Donna Fuqua, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Brad Fuqua and wife, Canda, of Lebanon, Oregon; niece, Jessica Bihary and family, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephew, Brandon Fuqua, of Lebanon, Oregon; and several stepsiblings, including Rhonda Sheneman and family of Broken Bow, and Elizabeth Taul and family, of Broken Bow.
