Robin Farrell Sheets Chapman, 88, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Sunday, August 19th, 2012.
Robin was born September 14th, 1923, in Dawson County, Nebraska to Dr. Charles and Farrell (Armbruster) Sheets. Robin graduated from Cozad High School in 1941. Following her graduation, Robin attended Gulf Park Women's College in Gulf Port, Mississippi. She received her degree in Business Education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Following her schooling, Robin married Dale Chapman. This union was blessed with two children, Dale and Cynthia.
Robin was well remembered growing up and was admired as an outstanding drum major in the high school band. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. In later years, she worked as a hostess at the Kearney Holiday Inn, where she greeted many football fans traveling after games from Lincoln.
Robin returned to Cozad to care for her mother. It was here that she enjoyed a beautiful yard and garden, as well as, bird watching as a hobby. She was able to keep her life very private even though she enjoyed meeting people at the grocery store, gas station, post office, doctor's office and beauty salon, where she visited in her friendly manner. She was interested in people and their families and shared her intelligence, sense of humor and personality with those who knew her.
Robin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale; daughter, Cynthia and two brothers, Darrell and Jack Sheets.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Katherine Wilson; two granddaughters, Robin Foreman and Michelle Chapman; three nieces, Barbara Lawson, Mandy Sheets and Jackie Meredith; four nephews, Charles Sheets, Jon Lawson, David Sheets and Ron Sheets; and two cousins, Susan Moore and Andy Armbruster.
A private family service was held with burial in the Cozad Cemetery.
