Memorials Suggested: Bobbie Bevard (1936-2016)

  Bobbie Bevard, 79 of Kearney died Friday July 15th, 2016 at his home.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Klein officiating. 
  Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Post #52. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
  Bobbie Lynn Bevard was born September 23rd, 1936 in Lexington, Nebraska to Edgar Lynn and Viola (Abbott) Bevard. He was a 1955 graduate of Cozad High School. On February 5th, 1957, Bobbie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He honorably served until his discharge in 1963.  
  Bobbie was united in marriage to Darlene Perkins on September 11th, 1964 in Lexington, Nebraska. For a short time, he was employed by Union Pacific as a Tour Conductor. He later worked for Monroe in Cozad before working for Yellow Freight in Kearney from 1965 until his retirement in 1996. In his retirement Bobbie worked for Mid Nebraska Commodities and most recently Morris Press. 
  Bobbie enjoyed attending car shows, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the American Legion Post #52. 
  Survivors include his wife, Darlene Bevard of Kearney; daughter Michelle Bevard of Atascocita, Texas; son Scott Bevard and girlfriend, Jacqui Moore and her daughter, Vivi Beck of Kearney; grandson Devyn Silvrants; sister Judy Whited and husband Orville of Bayard, Nebraska; brother-in-law Larry Perkins and wife Marilyn of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; niece Holly and Mike Zeir of Bayard, Nebraska, Laurie Thompson and husband Jeff of Evansville, Indiana, Charlene Hoyle and husband Matt of Amelia, Ohio; great nieces and nephews  Nikki LeDroit and husband Logan and their son Tanner; Alan Zeir, Bryan and Stephanie Thompson, Alex and Nick Hoyle. 
  Bobbie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
