Rulings Made On Saunders In Dawson County Court
Court rulings have been filed in Dawson County Court pertaining to a SUV-Pedestrian accident that occured in August of 2015 in northeast Lexington.
Dawson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Cheri Saunders of Lexington was found not guilty of Official Misconduct in a ruling issued on Thursday by Judge Kent Turnbull. Judge Turnbull presided over the bench trial that was conducted in April. Saunders has been on administrative leave without pay since the Attorney General’s office filed the charges in March.
In a related case, Krystal Saunders of Lexington entered a plea of no contest to Motor Vehicle Homicide as a result of the SUV-Pedestrian accident that occured in August.
The three-count complaint was filed in April by the Nebraska Attonry General’s office.
In the plea agreement there was the dismissal of charges of careless driving and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The plea agreement also includes the recommendation for probation.
Acting Dawson County Judge Kent Turnbull accepted her plea and set Krystal Saunders’ sentencing for September 12th.
