Cozad Resident: Patsy Morehead, age 64 (1947-2012)

Patsy Morehead, 64, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 12th, 2012, at her home in Cozad.

Patsy was born September 5th, 1947, at Smith Center, Kansas, to Raymond and Lola (Conaway) Eberline. She was baptized at the Church of Christ in Cozad. She attended school in Eustis and later graduated from Cozad High School in 1967.

She married Ronald Morehead on September 7th, 1973, at Cozad.  The couple made their home in Cozad where they lived their entire married lives. Patsy greatly enjoyed embroidery work. She was active in a group called God's Tiny Angels that made gowns and blankets for newborn babies. Among all of her enjoyments, Patsy kept God as the focal point of her life. She had actively taught Sunday school for many years; in addition to her contributions to the Junior Chapel Ministry. Patsy even participated in facilitating a buss route that brought children to the church. Patsy loved working with children in ministry. While the genesis of her journey of faith began at the Church of Christ in Cozad, it eventually lead Patsy to her church family in Lexington.

Patsy enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her grandchildren. She also spent a great deal of time with her good friend, Peggy Pile.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; two uncles, Wayne Conaway and Richard Eberline and an aunt, Betty. 

Patsy is survived by her husband, Ronald of Cozad; son, Ray (Sarah) Morehead of Bellevue, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Cody, Lexie, Izzy and Ellie, all of Bellevue; four brothers, Ronald Eberline, Kent Eberline, Steven Eberline and David Fred Eberline, all of Cozad; a sister, Nina Fae (Steven) Buscher of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; sister-in-law, Jan (Rich) Manary of North Platte, Nebraska; two nephews, Jeff of North Platte and Matt of Kearney, Nebraska; a good friend, Peggy Pile of Cozad; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were held on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Nathan Rhea officiating. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery.
