Norvene Bowden, 91, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Monday, March 19th, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in Cozad.

Norvene was born May 4, 1920, at Cozad, Nebraska, to Reginald and Cora (Stauffer) Davis.  She was the second of eight children.

On October 9th, 1937, Norvene married Harry Charles Bowden and their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Patsy.  They later divorced and Norvene moved to California for a short time. She worked as a waitress for Knox Berry Farms, she then returned to Cozad and worked for Monroe Auto until her eventual retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; brother, Robert; sister, Dorothy Fedderson; three brothers-in-law, Harold (Short) Fedderson, Ivan Lindekugal, Ted Struempler; and a great-great grandchild, Jerica Stark.

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy (Dietrich) Meyer of Lexington, Nebraska; three granddaughters, Carol (Ron) Stark of Cozad, Connie (Larry) Mikkelsen of Mulvane, Kansas, Cindy Meyer of Rose Hill, Kansas; seven great-grandchildren, April Koehler of Whichita, Kansas, Misti (Scott) Maddox of Cozad and Matthew (Sarah) Raney, of Hastings, Heather Stark of Cozad, Jamie Raney of Hastings, Aaron (Audri) Stark of Cozad and Elizabeth Mikkelsen of Mulvane; 13 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Struempler of Callaway, Nebraska, Nina Lindekugal of Cozad, Janice (George) Craft of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Doug Davis of Westlow, Texas; sister-in-law, Laurine Davis of Washington, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Friday, March 23rd, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Inurnment will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
