Erma E. Turner, 95, of Eustis, Nebraska, died Monday, March 12th, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in Cozad, Nebraska.
Erma was born October 26th, 1916, on the Schmeeckle homestead farm site northeast of Eustis, to William and Katherine (Daiss) Schmeeckle. She was a graduate of Eustis High School.
On May 22nd, 1941, Erma married Raymond E. Turner at North Platte, Nebraska. The couple made their home on the Schmeeckle farm, where they lived and raised their family. The couple was blessed with four children, Dallas, Doug, Brad and Sherry.
Erma was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.
She was an avid bowler and loved to raise big gardens. Erma was an excellent cook, with many cherished moments spent with family over nice meals that she had prepared. Erma also found great joy in playing cards, especially cribbage.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1996; a grandson, Kelly Turner in 1997 and a brother, Donald Schmeeckle.
Erma is survived by her three sons, Dallas Turner of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Doug Turner of Denver, Colorado and Brad Turner of Eustis; her daughter, Sherry Turner of Denver; 6 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday, March 16th, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis with Pastor Beverly Rautenberg-Panko officiating. Burial was in the East Cemetery at Eustis.
