Nettie M. Long, 96, of North Platte, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 25th, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Eustis, Nebraska, November 20th, 1915, to Oscar and Minnie Brune Hall. She lived in Eustis until the age of 10, when the family moved to Cozad, Nebraska.
Nettie graduated from Cozad High School in 1934. She worked in Dry Cleaners for a number of years. She also sold Avon products for a few years and worked for the City of North Platte as a bookkeeper for the street and sanitation department and City Shop for 12 years. Nettie married Robert J. Long on March 25th, 1977. He died March 6th, 1996.
She was a member of the Social Order of Beauceant and Eastern Star of North Platte and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Nettie is survived by four step-sons, Dave (Joan), Douglas (Marilyn), Steve (Jane) and Jerry (Mary); 13 step-grandchildren; 11 great-step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Diana Steffens; and close family friend, Don Hazen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and a sister and brother-in-law, Alta (Emil) Jelnick.
Graveside Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28th, 2012, at the North Platte Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Wiest officiating.
