Stepping into the limelight will be Jeff Cottingham, the Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, will be the keynote speaker for the Memorial Day Service at 10 a.m., on Monday at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
In the case of inclement weather, the Memorial Day Service will be moved indoors to the Gothenburg Senior Center.
The Gothenburg Legion Vice Commander Jack Ostergard will extend the ‘greeting’ and the invocation.
Barry McDermott will flex his vocal chords to sing the National Anthem for all in attendance.
Memorial Day Wreaths will be placed by representatives of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and their respective Auxiliaries. Wreath bearers will include Steve Hecox, American Legion; Stan Johnson, VFW; Diane Harm, America Legion Auxiliary; and Donna McConnell, VFW Auxiliary.
The Gothenburg Honor Guard will give a 21-gun firing salute and will also play Taps.
