The Lexington Community Foundation is kicking off its fourth annual Give BIG Lexington campaign scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th. This is a one-day giving event in which the Lexington Community Foundation will match a share of every qualifying contribution to local nonprofits on the Give BIG Lexington site for the 24-hour period.
The Foundation’s Give BIG Lexington initiative began in 2011 and was the first giving day hosted in Nebraska. In the first three years, more than $1,093,000 has been distributed to 78 area organizations from over 4,600 donations. Support for Give BIG Lexington has been widespread and has generated support from around the world with donations being received from 18 different states and one foreign country. The event has created unprecedented impact for this area.
The Lexington Community Foundation has again committed a pool of $100,000 in funds for partial match incentives. The partial match funds are distributed proportionately: if a nonprofit organization raises 3% of the total qualifying donations during the Give Big Lexington challenge, then they will receive 3% of the incentive pool. Donations up to $25,000 per donor/per organization, qualify to receive a proportional share of the incentive pool of $100,000 given by the Lexington Community Foundation.
Once again Bonus Grants will be provided to the three nonprofits that receive the most unique online donors. Grants of $2500, $1500 and $1000 will be paid respectively.
Golden Tickets! Ten times during the day, an online donor will be selected at random and an additional bonus grant of $100 will be added to the online donation that donor made to their nonprofit organization.
The Give BIG Lexington site: giveBIGlexington-.razoo.com, contains complete giving day information and rules, including a listing of the participating organizations and their causes. On Wednesday, November 12th, the front page of the site will be live with leaderboards and media posts.
Give BIG Lexington will be held for 24 hours - from 12 a.m. until midnight on Wednesday, November 12th and is presented by the Lexington Community Foundation.
