Richard Gene Isackson, 86, of Brady, Nebraska, died peacefully on May 6th, 2014 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born October 26th, 1927 at the Isackson farm home in Wild Horse Valley to Anton and Adena (Larson) Isackson. He attended Spannuth grade school and graduated from Brady High School in 1945. He was the last remaining member of his class.
Richard spent all of his life farming and ranching in the Wild Horse Valley. He married Maxine Bridgman in 1961 at the First Methodist Church in North Platte, Nebraska. They had two sons, Randall and Scott. Richard was a member of Svea Dal Church located in the valley, the Elks and American Legion; he was an avid Husker fan. He enjoyed watching the abundant wild life and took pride in his cattle.
Richard is survived by his wife, Maxine of 53 years; his sons Randall (Dee) of Gothenburg and Scott of Overton; three grandchildren: Zane (Julie) of Gibbon; Bryce of Omaha; Katrina (Brandon) Carter of Gothenburg ; four great grandchildren, Tessa & Claire Carter, Caleb and Landon Isackson; along with nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Elmer Wayne and a nephew Steve Kirk.
Funeral Services were held at Evangelical Free Church, Monday, May 12th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ken Sawyer officiating.
Interment followed in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
