Olaf E. Sharp was born on June 4th, 1916, at Lamar, Colorado, to Ray O. and Valeria (Mayberry) Sharp and died on April 16th, 2014, at Weisbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads, Colorado, at the age of 97.
Olaf was a longtime member of the Wiley Lions Club as well as the Vaquero’s Saddle Club and a charter member of the Wiley Community Center.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Helen Sharp, his parents, sister; Wilma Smith, son-in-law; Keith Dunlap and grandson-in-law; Kelly Gould.
Olaf is survived by his children; Charla (Larry Michael) Dunlap of Eads and Jerry (Carolyn) Sharp of Cozad, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Douglas (Diana) Sharp of Prairie Village, Kansas; Deiadra (Kevin) Smidt of Sheridan, Wyoming; Dawn (Andy) Wright of Lincoln, Nebraska; Leisha Gould of Fountain, Colorado; Todd (Amber) Dunlap of Carr, Colorado and Brian (Amanda) Dunlap of Lake Barrington, Illinois. He is also survived by his fifteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law; Maurice Smith of Lamar as well as several nieces, nephews other family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life for Olaf E. Sharp will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 21st, 2014, at the Wiley United Methodist Church with Reverend Calob Rundell officiating. Interment will follow in the Wiley Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wiley Lions Club either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
