George L. “Ricky” Harris, 59, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, March 22nd, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
He was born June 21st, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Fletcher Page and Beatrice Finch.
Ricky attended school in Chicago and worked as a C.N.A. in several hospitals and nursing homes until his health forced him to retire.
He moved with his life-partner, Barbara, to Lexington six years ago. While in Lexington he worked for a time at Tyson Fresh Meats as well as Wal-mart.
Ricky enjoyed music, cooking, baking and being with his family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include his life-partner, Barbara Watts of Lexington; grandchildren; Ray and wife Tia Watts of Chicago; Gregory Watts of Lexington; Antoinette Watts of Chicago and Paula Watts of Lexington; two brothers, two sisters, all from Chicago as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 26th, 2014, at 11 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
A service will also be held in Chicago at a later date with cremation to follow.
