Merlyn Gerald Reed, 77, was born December 6th, 1936, at Overton, Nebraska, to Gerald Reed and Leona (Else) Reed and went to meet our Heavenly Father on October 10th, 2013.
Merlyn graduated from Elm Creek, Nebraska, High School in 1954 and attended Kearney State Teachers College for two years.
He started working as a meat cutter and later worked for Armour’s as a sales rep, then also Packers and Gold Crown. Merlyn also was a meat cutter for Dillon’s grocery store until his retirement in 2001.
He is survived by his wife Marge of 22 years, his three sons Tim (Cindy) Reed, Kent Morris from Missouri, Todd Morris from Nebraska and three daughters Debra Johnson from Missouri, Terri (DeWayne) Brand, from Nebraska and Debra (Dewey) Groteluschen from Nebraska. Merlyn is also survived by his sister Barbara (Gary) Hammond.
Mert has twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren that he loved and enjoyed so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Terri Brand.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 14th at Glendale Christian Church at 11 a.m. on Blackman Road in Springfield, Missouri.
