Cozad Resident: Clifford Chessmore (1940-2017)
Clifford Lee Chessmore, 76, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Sunday, January 1st, 2017 at Cozad Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Clifford was born June 9th, 1940, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Charles & Cecil (Staal) Chessmore. He attended school at Roosevelt Elementary in North Platte. In the late 1960’s Clifford moved to Grand Island, Nebraska where he worked for the Grand Island Independent.
Clifford was united in marriage to Clara Cornine on December 30th, 1983, in Sedalia, Missouri. The couple would reside in Cozad and Clifford worked at Monroe Auto Equipment for over 24 years.
Clifford was very talented at wood working. He enjoyed fishing and riding his bicycle long distances.
Clifford his survived by his wife of 33 years, Clara Chessmore of Cozad, Nebraska; two brothers, Howard (Wanda) Chessmore of Callaway, Nebraska & Harold (Linda) Chessmore of Homer, Alaska; one sister, Margaret (Don) Herbert of Arapahoe, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mabel in 2010.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 7th, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Reverend Shanon Williams, officiating.
Visitation was held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Following the traditional funeral and visitation, cremation took place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens at North Platte, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
