Helen M. Curtiss, 83, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died on March 23rd, 2013.
Helen was born in Cozad, Nebraska, on August 24th, 1929, to Walter and Anderson Peden and Frances Bertha (Kandler) Peden.
Helen graduated from Cozad High School in 1946, the Valedictorian of her class; she then attended Nebraska Wesleyan, Lindenwood College and UNL. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, member of PTA Council and past president of Hartley PTA, member of PEO, Chapter IL and Past State President, member of the Lincoln Law Wives, Book Club, Senior Striders and Trinity United Methodist Church.
Helen loved quilting, flower gardening and formerly played league volleyball.
Survivors include: husband of 63 years, J. Arthur; sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Charlene of Houston, Texas; Jim and Gayle of Brookeville, Maryland; Alan and Trisha of Lincoln; and David and Jo of Malmo, Nebraska, nine granddaughters and 11 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and all her siblings, Ernie, Leo, Oliver, Arlene, Ruby, Bette, Bob and Darrell.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 30th at 3 p.m. at Roper & Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street in Lincoln.
