Crick & Rupe Are Spotlighted AS Elks Students Of The Month

The Cozad Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge, Number 2250 has selected Cozad’s Sammy Crick and Hayden Rupe of Eustis/Farnam as the recipients of the Elks Students of the Month. 
The pair of students have maintained superior academic portfolios at Cozad and Eustis/Farnam throughout their high school years. 
Sammy is the daughter of Doug and Rachel Crick. Crick maintains a 4.095 GPA at Cozad High School. She has been on the All A’s and High Honor Roll throughout her four year tenure at Cozad High School. 
Sammy Crick has been very involved in a variety of activities while maintaining a level of excellence in the classroom at Cozad High School. Sammy showchases great leadership skills and blazes the trail of activities and events that she is involved in. 
Crick has been recognized by the CCSA in Language Arts and Science during her high school years. She was selected as a Graduation Attendant this past year and was a prom server during her sophomore year. Sammy was inducted into the Cozad National Honor Society as a Sophomore and continues to exceed the high standards of being in the National Honor Society. 
As a four year member of the Cozad High School FBLA Chapter, Sammy Crick has been a four-year state qualifier where she placed fourth overall in publication design this past year. She was awarded the certificate of Mentorship, Business Achievement and Community Service Awards this past year as well. Crick is currently the organization’s Vice President were as the she was the Treasurer as a Junior. 
Sammy has been a four year letterwinner of the Cozad High School Pep Club and is currently the President of the Pep Club. She was the Publicity officer this past year as a Junior. Crick was spotlighted as the High Merit recipient during her Sophomore year.  
Providing great leadership for her class, Sammy has been a class officer all four years of high school. She is currently a Team Captain of the Cozad Jazz Dance squad and has been a member of the Jazz for the past three years. 
Sammy has been instrumental to the success of the Lady Haymakers Softball squad during her four-year campaign. She was one of the team captain’s this past year. She has early Academic All-State honors as well as All-State Honorable Mention accolades as well the past two years. 
As an active member of the Job’s Daughters organization, Sammy has been involved for the past four years and was the Honored Queen this past year. 
“Sammy is dependable and she enjoys putting hard work in and relishes the positive outcomes. Her efforts in extracurricular activities are stellar, no doubt,” expressed Cozad High School Activities Director Cory Spotanski. “She is a great student to have as a member of our school community. Teachers speak very highly of her work ethic and friendliness in their classrooms. Sammy is an awesome person with a heart of gold.”
Hayden is the son of Shannon and Julie Rupe. Rupe maintains a 91.1 GPA at Eustis/Farnam High School and has been a mainstay on the honor roll throughout his prep career at Eustis/Farnam Schools. 
Hayden Rupe has been a very active student in activities and organizations during his tenure at Eustis/Farnam Schools. 
He has been a member of the Student Council throughout his career and currently acts as the Vice President. Hayden has been his classes President since they were Freshmen. 
As a member of the highly touted FFA program since his ninth grade year, Rupe has been a key cog in the success of the program at the district, state and national competitions. 
Hayden was inducted into the Eustis/Farnam National Honor Society this past year and he coutinues to exceed the high standards of the organization as he remains a member. 
On the playing field, Hayden Rupe has been a four year letterman for the Knights football team. He has earned All-District accolades as well. 
On the hardwood, Rupe has been instrumental to the success of the Knights as a three-year letterwinner. 
He was an attendee of the American Legion Cornhusker Boys State event the Summer before his Junior year. 
“Hayden has a great work ethic and was an excellent member of the mock trial team this past year,” stated Eustis/Farnam Social Studies Instructor  Lynn Young.
