Five Returning Letterwinners To Lead Minutemaids

There will be a youthful and exuberant contingency of hoopsters that don the threads of the Minutemaids during the 2016-2017 hoops campaign under new head coach Hailey Mandelko.
The Minutemaisds return five letterwinners and all five letterwinners have spent time in the starting lineup during past seasons.
The Minutemaids have a ton of athleticism that will allow for the Orange and Black to do their best of controlling the tempo of the contests.
Senior Blaire Edeal brings great speed and a competitive nature to the hardwood that will allow her to be a fierce shutdown defender. Edeal has the potential to be a standout on the offensive end if she is allowed to gain some momentum and confidence in her shot then she is a tough cookie to stop for defenders.
Senior Lili Fattig has the size and strength to play in the paint  and the quickness and sharpshooting ability to prosper on the wing as well. Lili has a great touch around the hoop in the paint and numerous times this past season found the offensive rebound land right in her hands where she returned it to sender for an easy two points. Fattig potentially will be crucuial to the success of the Minutemaids because of her inside presence.
Junior Brylee Lauby has seen her chances where she is shooting the ‘lights out’ and regardless of who is guarding her or what defense is being played, she reaches that ‘Zone’. Lauby as an upperclassmen will recognize that she needs to assist in the ballhandling and also with the added intensity, it should result in Lauby being a catalyst for the Orange and Black-Clad cagers.
Doing her best as a primary ball handler, Beverly Trevino will see her roles expand greatly as the pressure situations from opponents start gaining weight. Trevino is an excellent ball handler and has experience in dealing with the full-court pressure situations that present themselves.
After having a fabulous freshman year on the hardwood, where she was a starter for much of the year, guard Courtney Hanson looks to improve on her past season’s statistics while doing her part in empowering the Minutemaids to success. Hanson has gained height and confidence in her offensive skills. Defensively, Courtney Hanson has the potential to be a suffocating defender and to step into the roll of taking the opponents best player will only help dramatically in building confidence and feeding the fierce competitor that she can become. Hanson has the potential to be an offensive force to be reckoned with a flair of confidence.
Currently the five standouts leading the way for the Minutemaids are just the tip of the iceberg of the excitment brewing in the Minutemaids preseason camp in anticipation of Lexington’s regular season contests.
